For the week of February 16-19,2010.
We did many fun things this week besides our regular school work. On Friday afternoon Tyler, a student at the University, came and taught us some fun PE games. Our favorite was sharks and sailors. Also on Friday, we learned about the different parts of plants that we eat. We then sang a song about vegetables; Hyena made up one of the lines. We put our hands in a riddle box and guessed what vegetables were in there. We put together a puzzle of the food pyramid and went fishing for vegetables. The last thing we did was get to taste some of the very colorful, yummy vegetables. On Wednesday, Burt and Lion moved to another classroom. We miss them but we get to see and play with them at recess. We also got a new student that day, who has the same name as Hyena. His name on our blog is Jet.
We are having fun learning more about weather. Tornadoes usually carry heavy rain, thunder, lightening and hail with it. Hurricane Gilbert's high winds and water buried cars and other things in the sands of Padre Island, Texas. We did some science experiments to learn more about weather. We had rain inside our classroom (condensation from a tea kettle) and we made a cloud.
Captain was student of the week in the newspaper. Check him out.
